Newborn Intensive Workshop

This workshop is designed for anyone who is entering into the world of newborn photography or looking to improve their newborn photography game.

It is a one-on-one workshop with me, Stuti. And I'll share everything I've learnt in the last 7 years of working with newborns.

A hands-on workshop where we work with 2 baby models and cover a variety of baby's solo set-ups.

Individual Parent posing with baby and family posing is covered in detail. 

You get to click images of the newborns in different props to build your portfolio.

Making of a Successful Newborn Photographer - in 10 Baby Steps

Introduction to Newborn Photography

The session starts with an introduction to managing newborns, what to expect during a newborn session and the essentials required. I will also cover newborn safety and comfort in detail. Followed by soothing techniques and creating a soothing environment.

Preparing the client for a newborn session

Here I will run you through the process I follow to prepare new parents for a smooth session. The conversations I have with them and the prep guide I share with them.

Props & Set-ups

How should you select a newborn baby prop? What is the ideal size? What should you look at while choosing a prop? Must have props and where to buy them from. How to create beautiful sets with minimal accessories? All of this answered & more.

10 different wrapping techniques

A step by step process to different styles of wrapping newborns.

The different types of wraps, textures and best vendors.

Posing, Composition​ & Angles

Posing newborn in different props and poses. Creating a gallery with a variety of images. Angles play a crucial role in newborn photography to create flattering images and we will cover this in depth. You will get to click images to build your portfolio.

Lighting Techniques​

We will learn studio light placement for 4-5 different poses / props and briefly cover natural light as well.
You will get to click images to build your portfolio.

Working with Parents

We will bring in a family and share the best practices for family posing to create some stunning images. We will also pose mom and dad separately with the baby.

The attendee will then get to guide parents & practice posing.

Workflow and Session Management​

We will talk about transitional posing and having a seamless workflow to ensure efficiency in every session. This segment will also cover time management.

Post-Processing and Editing​

I will share my process of culling a gallery. We will hand edit an image clicked during the workshop in Photoshop. And I will run you through the process of delivering a complete gallery to the client.

Business and Marketing Tips​

How do you set yourself apart and consistently get business? We will deep dive into the aspects of running a successful business and creating a niche for yourself in the newborn photography industry.

  • The workshop is an interactive session wherein the attendee can ask as many questions during or after the workshop. 

  • Lunch will be served during the workshop

  • The workshop can be customised to include areas you're struggling in or props you're finding hard to pose newborns in.
